  • What is your best advice for new home buyers?

My best advice to new home buyers is to look at the role your home plays in your lifestyle. What are the rooms you use most? How much time do you spend outdoors? What do you love about the home you’re currently in and where does it fall short? My job is to help put buyers in the RIGHT home for them and often first time buyers don’t know where to start as this is first time they truly have choices with all of these details. It’s important to ask yourself a lot of questions in order to choose the right design to suit your life.

  • Where are you from originally?

I grew up in San Francisco (and yes, I left my heart there.) But I attribute that beginning to why I love the Austin area so much. A community that values music, art, food, technology, and individuality is a pretty great place to live, in my humble opinion!

  • What lights you up in life?

My 3-year-old Shih Tzu, Winston. He has many nicknames, including Winnie Pooh, Circus Pup, and Little Muffin. There is nothing better than coming home from work and being greeted by his onslaught of over-the-top joy and energy.

  • How did you get into homebuilding?

I used to live in Denver, CO, and my first (temporary) job was with a home builder working on spreadsheets for their purchasing department. I later took a position with a different builder reviewing closing documents and providing marketing support for the communities and sales staff. I was always interested in the floor plan trends and how design ultimately kept up with the evolving needs of the home buyer.

  • What do you love about homebuilding?

For me, it’s about seeing what starts as a vision, come to life. A customer comes in with an idea of what would be the perfect home for home. It’s a recipe that mixes what they loved about their past or current home, with the plans for their future.

  • What is your favorite Model, Floorplan or Feature?

I am very partial to the 2848 floor plan, which is my model at Double Eagle Ranch. I wouldn’t change a thing – it just feels like home. From the moment you walk in the door, you are relaxed by the gorgeous hill country view you can see out the back patio sliders. Big ceilings overhead give you the feeling of unlimited space, unlimited possibilities. The layout of this 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath home is so smart throughout, but the best feature is the luxuriously large kitchen with 10′ x 5′ island. I can’t look at it without imagining a party with fabulous food and friends gathered around, laughing and enjoying themselves!

  • What experience would you repeat?

Flying over the Great Barrier Reef in a helicopter.

  • What is one of your favorite things to do in your city?

See live music in an outdoor venue (preferably with a margarita, chips, and queso)!
