  • Where are you from originally?

I’m originally from Aberdeen, Scotland. I moved to Houston, TX in 2000 and raised my family. I took a career diversion and moved to Alaska for four years then settled back in Austin, TX in 2017.

  • What was your first job in the industry?

  • What lights you up in life?

My family, especially watching my 2 granddaughters grow (they are 5 & 7).

  • How did you get into real estate?

My son is a realtor in Austin and encouraged me to get my license. I was looking for a job that would allow me to be my own boss and choose how to spend my time.

  • Where do you predominately sell real estate?

All over the Austin MLS area.

  • What do you love about the industry?

I love the challenge of matching the right home with the right buyers. I enjoy helping sellers move on to the next chapter of their lives, whether they are up-sizing or downsizing or simply moving to a different neighborhood in the area. I’ve forged lifelong friendships with some of the clients I’ve represented. I enjoy getting to know their story as we get to know each other more throughout the course of the transaction.

  • How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?

My British accent usually distinguishes me from other agents! I also recently gained my New Home Construction Specialist certification & Residential Construction Certification.

  • In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?

Determination & Persistence will help you succeed!

  • What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app?

    Homesnap and Austin Title’s “AustinTitleAgentOne”.

  • Tell us an interesting detail about you that many might not know?

I used to be a pastry chef. Before moving to Austin I ran a Bed & Breakfast in Skagway, Alaska.

  • Which Home Builders have you had a great experience working with in the last 12 months?

I’ve worked with Taylor-Morrison and am currently working on new construction with Highland Homes in Mayfield Ranch (photos below).

  • What is one of your favorite things to do in your city?

Sell houses (haha) – kayaking on Town Lake – hiking in various state parks – cooking with my family – try new wines at one of many local wineries – listen to great live music at small venues like The Elephant Room, One-to-One-Bar, Donn’s Depot – discover new quirky things to do/see in Austin (just realized that’s more than one!)

  • What is the best advice you have ever been given?

    Don’t give up!

  • What Charity do you support? Please tell us more about your involvement?

Make-a-Wish – I volunteered in Houston for years with them and now here in Austin. I was blessed to have 4 healthy kids, and I wanted to give back in some way. Make-a-Wish gives me such a sense of gratitude and appreciation that I can make a difference in someone’s life or the life of the family. I help grant wishes for children under 18 years old, living with a life-threatening condition. I love seeing the smile on their faces after their wish and they are telling me all about it. It’s a blessing to be able to create such a positive memory/experience for the whole family to get them through the difficult times.
