If your new home buyers want to find a place where the outdoors are just as accessible as the city, Lakeway provides the best of both worlds. Just 40 minutes (about 25 miles) northwest of Austin proper, Lakeway rests along the banks of the Colorado River, making it a lush little city nestled in the Texas Hill Country. The last population estimate rests right around 13,000 people, making this one of the smallest cities in our new home community series. This small town population has a lot going for it, though, and there is always plenty going on.
What Lakeway has to Offer
Lakeway has a great community vibe, highlighted by their many fairs, access to art galleries, and a handful of great family parks. Residents also have access to the Canyonlands, a scenic park at Lake Travis. Along the main street, Lakeway Blvd, residents have access to a “Hike and Bike” trail that connects them to the major parks in town. The city also puts on a number of events, like indoor garage sales, Big Band Bashes, a major holiday festivities like a 4th of July festival and Breakfast with Santa.

Lakeway has superior access to Lake Travis, the largest of seven reservoirs within the Highland Lakes System. The unique serpentine shape stretches 65 miles and offers endless opportunity for sport and family activities.
Aside from the Lake, family-friendly parks and trail infrastructure, Lakeway is also part of the awesome Lake Travis Independent School District. There are 6 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, and one high school within close distance of any of the new build communities.
While the size of the city is impressively small, it caters to everyone’s needs easily. There is an H-E-B and Randalls just towards the southeast on 620-S, as well as a number of great restaurants that can settle any craving. New home buyers will have close access to the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, and many other health and wellness providers. There is plenty of options for shopping and fun with access to the Oaks at Lakeway as well as the nearby Hill Country Galleria.

Residents will feel right at home here, and can find the house of their dreams. With almost 20 new build communities established in Lakeway at the moment, your clients are bound to find the home they want at the price they want.
