Thirty-five miles northwest of Austin, Spicewood is the quaint, quiet area many homebuyers are looking for. With breathtaking views of the Hill Country, beautiful neighborhoods, as well as quick access to major amenities, it’s the best option for many buyers. Spicewood proper, while small, also has a unique lifestyle all its own.
The Culture of Spicewood
Spicewood, home to Willie Nelson, is a beautiful area nestled right in the heart of Texas Hill Country. With just over 8,000 people in the area, it’s the break many people need from Austin city life.
Families with kids can enjoy the great benefits that come from being part of the Marble Falls ISD, with Spicewood Elementary School having one of the highest rankings in the area. Portions of Spicewood have access to Lake Travis ISD. Residents (and visitors) enjoy some of the best local barbeques, wineries, and shops in the quiet downtown area.
Krause Springs is one of the most popular destinations, with caves, waterfalls, and natural swimming areas. Muleshoe Bend Recreation, an LCRA park and Pace Bend Park, a Travis County park both offer miles of shoreline along Lake Travis for boating, camping, hiking, horseback and mountain biking opportunities. Take the kids for a zipline ride through the Cypress Canopy, complete with dazzling lights and glow bracelets! Lakecliff on Lake Travis offers private tennis and golf on an Arnold Palmer designed golf course.

Just 17 miles east on TX-71, you can also easily access the Hill Country Galleria with upscale restaurants, outdoor and movie theater entertainment as well as Whole Foods Market. Everything like H-E-B, Target, big chains stores, and more are also within easy access in Bee Cave. Hospitals, dentists, and doctors are available within Spicewood itself or by visiting Bee Cave when heading East or in Marble Falls when heading West.
The area is still open, with unhampered views of the country and sprawling hills. It’s a great place to settle down roots before the Austin market moves west!
Homebuyers can choose homes from top builders in Spicewood. Prices range from the low $300s and up and offer a number of custom options you won’t find elsewhere.
