A view of Main Street in historic downtown Bastrop / statesman.com

We asked area expert, Danielle Lipari-Mareth, New Home Specialist from Pacesetter Homes at Pecan Park to tell us more about Bastrop, Texas.

What do your homeowners and residents say they love about living in Bastrop the most?

What people love about living in Bastrop is that we are close enough to Austin to enjoy what it has to offer, but far enough away that we are able to escape the stress of crowding and traffic as the city continues to grow.  We also have beautiful scenery and views that feel like the hill country without paying the crazy price tag!

What do they like to do on the weekends?

There are so many different things to do on the weekends in Bastrop!  You can get out on Lake Bastrop or the Colorado River right in town, or explore the Bastrop State Park.  The adorable downtown area has lots of unique shops and places to eat, and there is often live music playing at one of the local bars or restaurants.

What restaurant would you recommend in the area?

It is hard to pick just one!  If I had to, though, I would always recommend Neighbor’s.  They have the best pizza in town, and I always get fantastic service.  Not to mention, their outdoor patio overlooks the river so you can enjoy the view while you eat or have a beer!

What makes Bastrop unique?

What makes Bastrop unique is its blend of small-town charm and beautiful views with convenience.  A five minute drive gets you to shopping, or outdoor adventures, or fantastic food.  And I don’t think I have ever lived around nicer people in my life!
