Q&A DFW - Lori Blad image
  • What was your first job in the industry?

I spent the first year with my license working in the commercial real estate world. I did cost evaluations, negotiated leases, and even spent a couple of months in property management. This experience helped me appreciate the residential world and helped me get very familiar with contracts.
  • Where are you from originally?

Born and raised in Denton, Texas. I’m a southern girl through and through!
  • How did you get into real estate?

Since college, I’ve been interested in Real Estate and how it can make people rich. As an adult, my family has lived in many different places all over the world. A couple of years ago, we decided it was time to settle back down and I wanted to start my career in real estate. I love helping people get into a home they love, in a neighborhood they love, in a home that will grow in value while they are living and enjoying it.
  • Where do you predominately sell real estate?

I’m in North Texas and I know this pocket of Tarrant and Denton county really well. Most of my clients are in Southlake, Flower Mound, and the Argyle/Northlake area.
  • What lights you up in life?

My family is my driving force. I’m so grateful for them, the light and love they bring into my life is more than I could ever wish for.
  • What do you love about the industry?

I love helping people get into a home they love. I love seeing everything come together for the families I work with and watching them as they start a new chapter of their lives.
  • How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?

As an agent, my focus is on the families I work with and how I can best help them. I’m always honest, straightforward, and keep the focus on what they really want and how I can help.
  • Which Home Builders have you had a great experience working with in the last 12 months?

David Weekly Homes, Toll Brothers, Highland Homes are really easy to work with and helpful.
  • What is your favorite Model, Floorplan, or Feature?

My favorite feature in new builds right now is the stand-alone bathtub. It’s so pretty and such a classic update for the primary bathrooms.
  • In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?

Find ways to get yourself out there.
  • What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app?

    realtor.com app
  • Tell us an interesting detail about you that many might not know?

For 4 years, I lived in Abu Dhabi with my family. My husband and I decided to look into international opportunities when my girls (I have twin daughters) were 2 years old. After looking at opportunities all over the world, he took a job in Abu Dhabi, and without knowing hardly anything about it, we packed up our family and moved. It was the coolest experience while being one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done, at the same time. We all look back at that time with great memories of places and friends that will always hold a special place in our hearts.
  • What are 3 adjectives that describe you best?

    Kind, Helpful, and Determined.
  • What is one of your favorite things to do in your city?

I love to go to the lake and paddleboard or kayak. We are close to Lake Grapevine and Lake Lewisville and if I could live on the water, I would. I love it!
  • What is the best advice you have ever been given?

Success is on the other side of failure. You have to be willing to be bad at something to learn how to be good at it. So, being willing to start something new, and ask tons of questions, and learn from every opportunity is the only way to grow.
  • What Charity do you support? Please tell us more about your involvement?

OUR RESCUE, Operation Underground Railroad, rescues children from slavery. I donate to the cause and do what I can to spread the word.
