The City of Anna
Are your clients looking for a small town not far from downtown Dallas? The city of Anna lies 45 minutes to an hour northeast of downtown Dallas. Anna is located off US Highway 75 in north-central Collin County. With a current estimated population of 15,010, residents in Anna enjoy the low cost of living and high quality of life.
Anna was incorporated in 1913, though the town was settled in the mid-1800s. John F. Greer is credited as building the first home and store in the community in 1867. A few years later, the Houston and Texas Central Railway passed through the area. By 1890, Anna’s population rose to about 200 residents, after more stores, churches, and a gristmill were erected. In 1990, the population was at an estimated 904; today, over 15,000 residents enjoy the community of Anna.

Home and Community Life in Anna
Parents looking to raise their children in a smaller Dallas suburb can appreciate what Anna has to offer. The Anna Independent School District has an enrollment of about 3,600 students, but the numbers are climbing each year. Currently, there are three elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school in the district. As Anna’s populations grow, Anna ISD plans to meet the demands for more quality schools with new construction, expanded facilities, and more teachers and staff. The expanding school system mirrors the expected growth for the city itself: Anna is the 4th-fastest growing city in North Texas, and trade is expected to grow 40% by 2023.
