Where are you from originally?
I was born in Vietnam but my family immigrated to America when I was very young. I have visited Vietnam several times and although it is a beautiful country, I feel so blessed to be able to live and raise my family in America. I can’t begin to tell how grateful I am to my parents and how in awe I am of them for the sacrifices they made and the hardships they endured for me and my sisters to have the lives we enjoy today.
How did you get into real estate?
After my youngest entered Kindergarten, I wanted to do “more”. A good friend suggested we get our real estate licenses so that we could flip homes. I immediately took my courses online and took the exams. She never did. I just had an inactive license sitting there doing nothing. My husband suggested I talk to an agent he met at an investment seminar. That Agent is now one of my closest friends and an incredible mentor and inspiration to me. He introduced me to Keller Williams Memorial, and I quickly joined them. That was nearly 10 years ago and I have been with them ever since.

What do you love about the industry?
I love that basically, everyone has the same chances. Your success is determined by you and by the work you put into it and the opportunities you seize. I never once thought about having a career in Real Estate. Even when I started, I thought I was going to do it part-time to make some extra money. When I look at the amazing career I have, I feel so blessed. But I also know it was because I worked hard for it and have always strived to do my best. One thing I have learned is that you cannot be successful in real estate by doing it part-time. You have to work at it – each and every day.
What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app?
Currently, I am in love with Canva. I have a creative side to me and love the ability to let that side flow to create professional marketing materials with such ease.
In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Fake it till you make it.
Tell us an interesting detail about you that many might not know?
You don’t have to be a Rocket Scientist to be a Realtor – but I am one. I began my career at NASA/Johnson Space Center in a special program for High School students. That opened the door to an internship that started the summer before I started college and then eventually, a full-time position after graduation. I was able to explore many different roles at NASA. When I left (to raise my children), I was in the Missions Operation Directorate, and I performed trajectory analysis on Visiting Vehicles to the Space Station.
