  • Where are you from originally?

I am a native Texan who grew up in the small East Texas town of Trinity.
  • What was your first job in the industry?

I was a temporary receptionist for Stewart Title.
  • What lights you up in life?

    Family and Church.
  • How did you get into real estate?

Destiny. I had pursued marketing in my education, but I wasn’t sure what industry I wanted to work in. I took a receptionist position with Stewart Title which led me into a detour in human resources for about 8 years. After working with Stewart Title and knowing that I liked the industry – I desired to get back to marketing. When I heard that a marketing position was open with David Weekley Homes, I pursued it and the rest is history. Over the next 15 years, my career led me from the builder side to the developer side of the business. In 2009, I decided to obtain my real estate license and have continuously held it active while working with the developer knowing that time would allow me the opportunity to one day sell real estate.
  • Where do you predominately sell real estate?

Predominately in the North and Northeast sides of Houston specializing in the master-planned communities in which I had the privilege of marketing when I was with Newland Communities and Johnson Development – Eagle Springs, Summerwood and Fall Creek.
  • What do you love about the industry?

It is constantly evolving and I have met some truly outstanding individuals over the years.
  • How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?

My experience working in the title, builder and developer sides of our business has allowed me to understand the complexities of the market and the challenges in regard to supply, demand, segmentation and marketing.
  • Which Home Builders have you had a great experience working with in the last 12 months?

David Weekley Homes, Westin Homes, Village Builders, Lennar, Perry Homes, Taylor Morrison, Chesmar Homes and Highland Homes.
  • What is your favorite Model, Floorplan, or Feature?

There are so many. Builders are constantly adding new plans and features. At the moment, I love the plans that have pet-friendly features built into the homes such as dog washes in the laundry rooms, built-in pet bowls and kennels.
  • What is your favorite podcast?

I wish I had time to listen to some.
  • In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?

Jump in. Face your fears and make it happen.
  • What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app?

    HAR.

  • Tell us an interesting detail about you that many might not know?

    I love to serve others.
  • What experience would you repeat?

  • What is the best advice you have ever been given?

Find purpose. Know who you are and what you represent.
  • Do you have someone in your life that has been an exceptional mentor? Who? Why?

My father. He always worked hard and always treated people with kindness. He taught me that no matter what you call your work – as long as you put forth the effort that would represent who you are, what you believe and bring glory to God, you will be successful.
