Waterfront Living in Baytown

Are your homebuyers looking for a big, diverse community in the Gulf Coast region? Half an hour east of Houston over the scenic Fred Hartman Bridge is Baytown, a community with an estimated current population of 85,000 residents. Its proximity to major highways like I-10 and TX-146 make it easily accessible from Houston, as well as other cities north and east of Baytown.

Because of its convenient location near the outlets of San Jacinto River and Buffalo Bayou, Baytown has some of the best water attractions and activities in the area. Baytown Nature Center on the west side of the city is a 500-acre nature preserve home to many migrant birds, but it also offers prime picnic shelters, trails and fishing piers for guests. Further north lies Pirates Bay Waterpark, a popular seasonal park with waterslides, pools, and kids’ play areas. Families looking for an all-purpose park will love Jenkins Park, which includes skate parks, disc golf, a dog park, and trails. If your clients are history buffs, they’ll enjoy exploring the incredibly popular historic sites of San Jacinto Battleground and Battleship Texas, just across Burnet Bay.

What to Do When You’re Not on the Water?

Families looking for a bite to eat after a day at the park have plenty of options to choose from. El Toro Mexican Restaurant in the northern part of Baytown serves classic Tex-Mex dishes in a casual space, while Rooster’s downtown has country-style steak and BBQ. Baytown also has convenient shopping access; West Town Shopping Center is just off TX-330, not far from Baytown Shopping Center, Target and Home Depot. Parents can also rest easy knowing that there are plenty of pediatricians and family dentist offices throughout Baytown, many close to the schools served by Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District.
