Where are you from originally?
The “real food and music capitol of the world” Louisiana! 504 straight out of New Orleans. Being born & raised in New Orleans wasn’t like the fluffed-up commercials you would see on TV promoting Bourbon Street, The French Quarters, Café Du Monde, etc. Growing up, it was a challenging city and I’d often see friends fall into the wrong crowd, including myself.
Every day, I count my blessings and thank Our Lord & Savior for the man I have become and for the people He has placed in my life that were/are true inspirations to me. I attended De La Salle HS, which was in the Garden District on St. Charles. Unfortunately, due to events that hit too close to home my mother transferred me to West Monroe, LA. It was a small city that was put on the map because the Duck Dynasty television show. Here’s a fun fact, Jase Robertson was my Youth Minster and was a huge fan of our High School football team, the West Monroe Fighting Rebels. I finished my Junior and Senior year being the starting running back for the #1 high school football team in Louisiana and the #2 in the nation my senior year. Those that know me will know that my football journey started when I was 5 years old and that’s when my nickname, Tank was born.
Tell us an interesting detail about you that many might not know?
I’ve played a lot of football in my lifetime. From playing at the age of 5 all the way on to the college level at Murray State University, where I received a full athletic scholarship and obtain a BS in Marketing in 4 years.
I didn’t always have my sights set on Real Estate or New Home Sales. Many may not know that I chased and experienced a dream of playing football professionally for 5 years for the Arena Football League. I truly consider myself blessed to have been able to play for such a long time and hit every level of my craft before life said, “it’s time to move on”. My last known team that I played for was the former local, San Antonio Talons where you could see me running up and down the field in that #28 black and blue jersey.
Why are you in homebuilding?
I think homebuilding just sort of found me. The best way I can describe it is as one of those “love at first sight” type of situations. In 2014, I jumped right into the industry, not knowing anything but understanding that this career path would be so fulfilling in so many ways that it just overtook me.
Every single day is a new experience as people from all walks of life come into the model home. It’s truly a rewarding experience to meet new people, build a relationship and help them with one of the biggest decisions of their life. Each day is never the same in this industry.
What are 3 adjectives that describe you best?
Passionate, Supportive, and Ambitious.
What is one of your favorite things to do in your city?
Well, if we’re talking about New Orleans, it’s definitely grabbing a few pounds of crawfish, potatoes, and sausage from CastNet Seafood in New Orleans East & heading to the steps on the Lakefront while the sun is setting just to take it all in and reflect. Being out there is one of the most peaceful things you’ll do while in NOLA and next time you decide to take that trip it’s a MUST DO.
San Antonio is home for me now and I love the unique feel it offers. From the culture, food, people, and history, there’s so much to see and do here. One of my favorite things I love about San Antonio is how it’s conveniently located to the hill country. My family and I love taking a drive to Fredericksburg for peach picking and wine tours.
What is your favorite Model, Floorplan or Feature?
There are so many amazing features when you build with Perry Homes. They are known for designing homes that draw you into the heart of the home with an open kitchen and huge, tall windows. My favorite one-story is the 2188W offered at Kallison Ranch. It’s a very inviting space with a ton of natural light.
We are pretty excited about a brand new two-story floorplan being offered, the 2594W. From the 19’ foot ceiling entry way to the even more dramatic two-story family room open to the kitchen. This home design definitely has a “Wow” factor and only starting in the $300’s at Kallison Ranch.
What is the best advice you have ever been given?
Anxiety is when the voices in your head are worried about the future. Depression is when the voices inside your head are worried about the past. Peace of mind is when those two voices stop talking to each other. Simply put, align yourself with positive vibes and let everything else fall into place.
What lights you up in life?
Without a doubt, spending time with my amazing family.
