What do families love about living in this area the most?
There is so much to love about the Schertz/Cibolo area. Most families can appreciate the small town feel of the area and the cute little neighborhoods it offers. The location has so many nice amenities, public parks and a close proximity to retail, medical and local restaurants/bars as well as other forms of entertainment. Not to mention, an outstanding school district with two popular High School football teams.
There’s a very family friendly atmosphere in both Schertz & Cibolo. People help each other, support local businesses and honor the strong presence of military families (due to the closeness of Randolph AFB and even Fort Sam Houston).
Living in Schertz/Cibolo offers the best of both worlds, two small towns that are still in close distance to the big city life in San Antonio or Austin.
What is one of your favorite things to do on this side of town?
I enjoy long walks with my dog or some jogging in Schlather Park in the evenings while admiring the beautiful Texas sunsets.
What is your favorite restaurant in the city?
I enjoy some good BBQ at Harmon’s and a nice glass of wine at the “1908 House of Wine & Ale” in downtown Cibolo.
Fun places in Schertz are the “Bar House” on Main Street and a local jewel to me is Sal-o-Mon, a family owned Mexican restaurant with a fun ‘I’m at home with family’ atmosphere. Food is delicious and very fancy, wine selection amazing and the owner will check in with you several times during your meal.
What Home Builders have you had a great experience working with in the last 12 months?
One of my top experiences so far has been with Chesmar Homes in Harvest Hills. The Sales Counselor is Darin Grant and he is highly professional, always friendly and accommodating. I serve many military families and one particular active duty Army family went through the process of selecting their homesite and building their home from the ground up. The experience working with Chesmar and Darin was superb from start to finish.
I’ve also had a great experience with Pulte Homes at The Crossvine with Marc LaFortune. Marc has been very professional throughout two of my purchases with two military families. Any problem that arose was fixed right away and without hesitation.
Connie Paez with Rausch Coleman at Heather’s Place has been amazing as well. Quick and easy transactions. Constant updates & smooth overall transactions.
Do you have a new home community that you love or would recommend to clients? Why would they find the community interesting?
Harvest Hills is a beautiful community nestled right on the outside of Cibolo (Marion city limits) Chesmar is building amazing homes in the mid/high 300’s with a nice variety of beautiful floor plans. The ½ acre lots they offer give you that extra space and privacy, however, the residents are very family friendly, warm and welcoming. Harvest Hills also offers a number of amenities that include a pool, playground, fishing pond, a boat parking lot, a stable for animals and more!
Residents just love the country feel just minutes away from Cibolo. It is usually quiet & peaceful no matter what time you decide to stop in. I was told that a good 90% of residents are retired military.
Anything else you’d like to add about selling or living on this side of town?
My family and I have been living in the Schertz/Cibolo area for over 4 years now and we enjoy the convenient location as well as the nice atmosphere ourselves.
After seeing various parts of town through my job, this area is still one of my favorites!
