  • Where are you from originally?

I am a multi-generational Texan. I have had the good fortune to live all over the country. I’ve lived in TN, DC, NY, CT, MI, MJ, LA, MD, VA just to name a few, and like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz says, there is no place like home! San Antonio is a magical city that has seamlessly established itself as an international hotspot while maintaining the charm that we all know and love.

  • How did you get into homebuilding?

I graduated from Law School in 2004 and knew within 6 months of practicing that I hated it! I got heavily involved in the political arena and had the pleasure of meeting a gentleman who became a critical mentor who was a developer. The more I was around him, the more I fell in love with building. Not just building randomly but building intelligently. Utilizing innovative techniques, strategies, and styles to improve the quality of life for the community. I’ve always been involved in residential rehabilitation and that passion just continued to grow. It went from 1 home to 2, 2 to 4, 4 to 8, and 8 to 20, 20 to 56…my math is not linear. Then eventually it became what it is today.

  • What experience would you repeat?

I would repeat all of my experiences in life. We are the total sum of our life experiences and everything we have gone through is critical to who and what we are today. I fear that in chancing any variable in my life’s journey, I can’t predict what the impact would be. #ButterflyEffect.

  • What is one of your favorite things to do in your city?

I love to go out into my city to sample food from restaurants I’ve never been to. San Antonio was recently designated as a city of Gastronomy by UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. As such, it celebrates our melting pot of cultures, heritage, and the most delicious food ever. Food is an experience, to be enjoyed with, friends, family, and loved ones.

  • What are 3 adjectives that describe you best?

Passionate, Impatient (pain in the ass), and Analytical.

  • What is your favorite Model, Floor-plan or Feature at The Legacy Townhomes?

My favorite feature of The Legacy floorplans is that the 4th floor is your entire master bedroom suite. You are walking into an open and airy design and allows the homebuyer to add their own flavor to the space.

  • What is one thing you want people to know about your community?

The Legacy on N St Mary’s is more than just a development. It celebrates the legacy of Alice and Ernest Gonzales and their families’ commitment to the city of San Antonio. We are fortunate to be able to contribute to their story.

  • What is the best advice you have ever been given?

The best advice I’ve ever been given is “keep moving your feet…you can’t cross the finish line if you’re not running.”

  • What lights you up in life?

What lights me up in life is my family. As the proud father of 2 beautiful children and husband to a loving wife, my family motivates me and provides me with a measurable inspiration and keeps me focused on what’s most important in life.

  • Do you have someone in your life that has been an exceptional mentor? Who? Why?

Mentors are very important to me. These are people who possess a wealth of wisdom and are willing to take the time to provide guidance, experiences, and an open ear to ensure my success. Hope Andrade and I have a long and rich history. She is the epitome of strength, fairness, and a family-first mentality. She has taught me to enjoy the journey and not to be focused solely on the destination.
