There are also about 50 acres between the Cibolo Creek Nature Trail Park, Boots Gaubatz Park, and the Norman Vestal Park. In general, Fair Oaks Ranch makes it easy to be outside and enjoy the wonderful area the city has worked so hard to preserve.
Parents and school-aged Fair Oaks Ranch residents also love the local schools, part of Boerne Independent School District. With ten campuses and over 8,300 students, these schools offer a great education and a tight-knit community.
One of the main attractions is the Fair Oaks Ranch & Golf Course, which holds part of the original ranch that was built there in the ‘30’s. There are a variety of local food options, as well, from Mexican grills to the Elkhorn Restaurant or Conway’s Irish Pub. There is also an H-E-B and Walmart about 7 miles south, or local options like the Fair Oaks Market.
For the bigger ticket items or a day of shopping, Fair Oaks Ranch residents enjoy the Shops at La Canterra or the Vineyard Shopping Center; both just about 13 miles south on I-10. Neighboring areas like Boerne, Universal City, and Live Oak offer tons of entertainment, such as movie theaters, kids play centers, and more.
There are also a number of medical and dental providers in Fair Oaks Ranch. Hospital options include Methodist Boerne Emergency Center and Methodist Stone Oak Hospital, with a veterinary hospital in the area in case of a fur friend emergency.
And of course, for the commuter, Fair Oaks Ranch offers something that many other areas can’t; a quick drive to work. In about 35 minutes, drivers headed south on I-10 can get to their office or into downtown San Antonio for a day of fun.
