About the Master Planned Community of Homestead:
Nestled approximately 20 minutes northeast of San Antonio and two miles southwest of New Braunfels on I-35, the Master Planned Community of Homestead offers residents a Texas Hill Country experience in Schertz, Texas. Residents who live in Homestead enjoy a thoughtfully-planned community that incorporates award winning builders, one that focuses on creating a sense of community, and where Texas charm and the Hill Country are put on display.
Located in the growing city of Schertz, Homestead provides the perfect balance of urban convenience and countryside living, providing a quaint, close-knit community feel conveniently positioned near large employment hubs, military bases, exceptional shopping, dining and attractions.
Homestead has partnered with award-winning builders to provide modern, Hill Country-inspired new-home designs that are unique to the community. Homestead’s homes have been purposefully planned to fit the Hill Country location and Texas landscape. New homes in Homestead are priced from the $200s from leading homebuilders CastleRock Communities, Perry Homes, Pulte Homes, & Scott Felder Homes. Ranging from 1,600+ square feet to over 3,200+ square feet, the homes include luxurious finishes, open-concept gathering spaces, eye-catching design and custom features tailored to personal style, lifestyle and budget. The homes are specifically styled for buyers at any point in their lives, whether young families purchasing their first home or empty nesters and retirees settling into their forever homes.
Homestead embraces the Vital Communities™ approach to placemaking by creating spaces that encourage healthy living, engagement, design, connectivity and stewardship. Throughout development, the community will add various amenities to help embrace those values. The main gathering center (now open), Homestead Commons, welcomes residents and is the heart of the community. This amenity center was intentionally designed to bring residents together, providing an open-air pavilion with grilling stations, modern pool, a great lawn, child playscape and state-of-the-art fitness center. The community also is home to a lifestyle coordinator who plans a whole host of community events for families of all kinds.
Homestead is served by the Schertz-Cibolo University City Independent School District, proud to be amongst select districts to hold a charter for an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma program and continues to lead Texas’ school districts in employee retention rates. The district itself has plans to develop an elementary school within the Homestead community, but as of now, Homestead’s public schools include: John A. Sippel Elementary School, Elaine S. Schlather Intermediate School, Frank Dobie Junior High School, and Byron P. Steele, II, High School.
