We asked Area Expert, Eric V. Seemann, New Home Specialist with VICTORS GROUP of KELLER WILLIAMS HERITAGE to tell us more about Helotes, Texas.
What is one of your favorite things to do in Helotes?
I guess my answer is not one thing, rather it is the group of events that the City of Helotes has to offer as a “Small Town”, that make it easy to enjoy the local life. Events include Summer Movie Nights on the 3rd Friday’s of the month from May – September. July 4th in the Park. Cornyval at the Helotes Festival Grounds, Community Band Concerts and also the Helotes Market Place on the first Saturday of every month.
What is your favorite restaurant in Helotes?
I have a lot of favorites depending on my mood or the time of Day. For burgers, Bobby J’s, Babe’s Old Fashioned or you can never go wrong with Whataburger. For Chinese or Thai it would Oolong or Pho An. For Pizza, I try to stay local with Florio’s or Rome’s but there are several chains available too. For Seafood would have to be Sea Island Shrimp House. BBQ either B Daddy’s or Bill Miller’s or look for a food truck out in the hood. For Coffee, that would be Hinee’s Gourmet Coffee. Something quite and romantic would be the classic Grey Moss Inn. My favorite margarita is at El Chaparral and they make some great fajita’s in town.
What Home Builders have you had a great experience working with in this area in last 12 months?
Most recently I have worked with Texas Homes and M/I Homes. Helotes also has other quality builders like KB Home, Wilshire, David Weekly and several custom builders in the area including Robare and Southwest Homes.
Do you have a new home community in Helotes that you love or would recommend to clients? Why would they find the community interesting?
That would depend on the price range. Right now the community with the most room to grow would be KB’s Ridge at Bandera. Triana has opened up some more lots with multiple builders.
For a higher price point I like Helotes Canyon by Texas Homes.
If you want to go full on Luxury then the closest would be the Canyons on Scenic Loop. Canyon Creek Preserve still has lots available from 3 to 25 acres. Lots to chose from and a variety of price ranges.
Anything else you’d like to add about selling or living on this side of town?
It may sound derivative, however this is true. Helotes is a dynamic and growing community with great Northside School District Schools. It is close to the Dub Farris Sports Complex so getting out “The Game” is always easy. There is opportunity to work, live and play and still be a part of something. Meet the Mayor or the City Council at numerous events around town. Have a voice in the growth and direction your community is going. And don’t forget as “The Gateway to the Hill Country” you are only a short drive away from some of the great towns in the near Hill Country.
